GETTING AROUND

In Darwin, the easiest way to get around town is by public transport. Purchase a Tap and Ride Card for $20 to get a week of unlimited travel, or you can just pay as you go. The best route for you to remember is the number 4, which takes you right through the city, along the waterfront, and out to many popular attractions in the area. Also the OL1, and OL2, loops around and covers most of Darwin and surrounding suburbs.  Darwin’s amazing weather means that it is always beer o’clock outdoors, and the city is full of walking paths that you can use to get from point A to point B. Walking with your buck between the bars and clubs at night won’t be a problem in tropical Darwin if you don’t have a jacket! Ubers and taxis operate throughout the city and surrounding suburbs and are always a great option when you are in a rush and looking to avoid the crowds.

CULTURE VULTURE

Although museums, art galleries, and wildlife tours aren’t usually the top pick for bucks party ideas, Darwin is full of some breathtaking indigenous art, and awe-inspiring sights. 

The best way to see the wildlife in Darwin (at least, according to the adrenaline junkies at The Bucks Co HQ) is to jump on one of our Quad bike tours. Zoom through the wilderness on your own ATV and enjoy a great day exploring Top End with the lads. BABY WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT

While Darwin may not be the place to go for any wild nights out like Sydney or Melbourne are known to be, it is the perfect place to grab some cold beers at local pubs and rooftop bars. There’s just something tops about a nice cold beer and a hot Darwin evening. The more popular spots in Darwin can all be found on Mitchell Street, right in the CBD. If you are looking for some more posh, modern venues, check out the Waterfront Precinct area. Keep in mind, “posh” in Darwin is not nearly as dressed up as “posh” in most other cities. In Darwin, shorts and thongs are the standard. Keep in mind, we recommend getting dressed up for the occasion, this bucks night is a big deal!
