GETTING AROUND

When looking for a cheap way around town, Adelaide has a free bike rental program which allows you to rent a bike for the day, helmet and lock included, for free! The city is great for cycling around, as it is all flat and you won’t work up too much of a sweat as you ride around town. If this all sounds like too much work (and your buck isn’t necessarily the “bike around town” type of guy) the city also has train, tram and a free bus service that can connect you with all areas of the city. Thankfully, Adelaide has night time bus services that can get you home after a big night out with the buck too. Uber and other taxi services are always easy to find, when you just can’t bother with waiting for a bus or walking that extra km back to your accommodation.

CULTURE VULTURE

Adelaide is known for its live music, bustling markets, massive arts and festival culture and hidden laneway bars. When it gets hot, which the summer always is in Adelaide, book in a boat cruise and soak up the sea breeze out on the water. Otherwise, enjoy your hot day drinking some cold beers while you play a round of golf or go head to head playing barefoot bowls.

If you head to Adelaide during festival season there is always something fun going on just around the corner, you will never be short of ideas to make the trip special. For the sporty buck, take a look at the Adelaide Oval and see what’s happening there. Often you can find an AFL game, cricket match, NRL game or concert happening each weekend.

Adelaide is home to some beautiful beaches, for that morning swim to wash away last nights adventures. Check out the beach at Glenelg, or Brighton.

BABY WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT

If you’re looking for some great bucks night ideas, take the boys to Hindley Street (nightclubs and neon!) or Rumble Street (good old pubs and bars). These streets are lined with bars, pubs and clubs for your group, some nights they are packed out and some nights you and the lads get to take over the party in an otherwise quiet venue. With tonnes of small bars to check out, and a handful of large-scale parties every weekend, there will be something for everyone. Set up your own bar hop and jump from hidden bar, to cocktail lounge, to country themed nightclub complete with mechanical bull! Adelaide may enforce lock-outs by 3am, but all your time spent before the clock strikes will be one to remember forever (or one you won’t be able to remember, but maybe that’s for the best).
